JAMES JORDAN BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

The James Jordan Boys and Girls Club is a two-story structure located on the northwest corner of Hoyne and Monroe in Chicago. The first floor contains a gymnasium, child/day care facility, junior game room, full service kitchen, multipurpose room, locker room and shower facilities. The second floor contains classrooms, craftrooms, computer science room, administrative offices, senior game rooms and a health clinic.

The main entry facade consists of the logo of the Boys and Girls Club in masonry, along with a vaulted sky light. The logo of children holding hands is formed by the use of differing color of sealed concrete block.

The structure of the building is load bearing masonry walls with steel joist. The roof system consists of flat and tapered insulation along with a single-ply EPDM membrane. Three roof top units handle all of the HVAC. The building is 100% sprinklered.
