MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY NAVAL EXHIBIT

This exhibit replicates activities on an aircraft carrier, submarine and other navy craft. The project required the gutting of one of the pavilions at the Museum of Science and Industry as well as the demolition of a portion of the floor to replicate the underside of an aircraft carrier and a submarine’s hull. The Navy donated an airplane for the exhibit. The submarine is equipped with two operable periscopes enabling one to view Chicago’s lakefront.
