GRANT VILLAGE

This “L” shaped, six-story, eighty unit complex was funded under HUD’s Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly. Located on historic Drexel Boulevard, the horizontal masonry banding was employed in order to address the notion of “base, shaft and cornice” which predominates the neighboring structures.

Instead of a customary sleeve through a wall for tenant supplied air conditioners, we integrated them into the window assembly. Finally, the building’s canopy is juxtaposed to the geometry of the horizontal masonry banding.
