PRAIRIE AVENUE RESIDENCE

Based on an architecture that respects its context, this townhouse emulates the rowhouses of the turn of the century. Prairie Residence is located in Chicago’s historic Gap district. This home was designed for Chicago’s typical 25- foot by 125-foot lots.

"Johnson & Lee gave special attention to the street facade: the headers, trim, base and door frame are of cast stone; the wood cornice was built locally at great savings. It adds a sense of heft to the elevation, whose simplicity implies dignity..."

Philip Arcidi, Progressive Architecture 1993
